Alberta Magazine Publishers Association (AMPA) Project Highlights
AMPA’s website needed to serve as a resource and value driver for prospective members, as well as a functional hub for an active, multi-faceted organization with a large membership base and partnership ecosystem. Our challenge was to balance these audiences and clearly communicate the benefits of membership while supporting a wide range of initiatives with online components, including events, conferences, awards programs and ongoing industry engagement.
We approached this by structuring the site around key user groups, with tailored pathways for prospective members, current members and industry stakeholders. Clear entry points highlight the value of joining AMPA, while integrated systems support event registration, program management and ongoing participation.
Accessibility was a central requirement for this project. The site was designed and built to meet WCAG standards, ensuring that all users can navigate content, access resources, and engage with AMPA’s programming without barriers.
To support the organization’s broader mandate, we developed several functional components, including a member directory, job board, and a dynamic news and resources section. Together, these features enable the site to function as an active industry platform rather than a static informational presence.
Built in WordPress, the result is a flexible, scalable website that reflects the dynamic nature of Alberta’s magazine publishing community while supporting AMPA’s ongoing growth and engagement initiatives.
